Sheet Pan Pancakes (soccer field)

These soccer field sheet pan pancakes are a fun and nutritious breakfast made with whole wheat flour and spinach for a naturally green “field” effect. Baked in one pan and decorated with Greek yogurt lines, this easy recipe is perfect for sports-themed breakfasts, team events, or family brunches.

This recipe makes 5-6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 cups milk

  • ¼ cup oil

  • 2 tbsp frozen spinach, finely chopped

  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt (to decorate like a soccer field)

Equipment:

  • Mixing bowl

  • Whisk or fork

  • Measuring cups

  • Measuring spoons

  • Knife (for chopping spinach)

  • Cutting board

  • Baking dish

Directions:

  1. Prepare spinach: Thaw the frozen spinach and finely chop it to create a smooth, green texture.

  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.

  3. Whisk in the eggs, milk, and oil.

  4. Mix until smooth

  5. Stir in the finely chopped spinach to give the batter a green “soccer field” colour.

  6. Bake: Pour the batter into a greased or lined sheet pan.

  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  8. Cool & decorate: Let it cool slightly, then use Greek yogurt to draw soccer field lines on top.
