Mission

At summerlunch+, our mission is to support kids in growing healthy habits through a comprehensive cooking and nutrition education program. We empower children to take the lead in making positive lifestyle changes at home and beyond.

Vision

A future where every child has the opportunity to build their knowledge, skills and confidence to nourish themselves, their families and their communities sustainability.

Values

1. Accessibility

Summerlunch+ is committed to making our program accessible and inclusive for all. By offering our program at no cost, we ensure every participant can engage fully. Our flexible, online format allows children to build cooking skills and healthy habits at their own pace throughout the summer.

2. Sustainability

We address environmental challenges by incorporating plant-based ingredients and promoting sustainable food practices. Through our program, children learn about food systems, ways to reduce food waste, and how everyday choices impact the environment.

3. Empowerment

At summerlunch+, we build knowledge and skills children need to thrive. Our educational modules and hands-on activities teach kids to make informed food choices and build healthy habits that will support them through adolescence and into adulthood.

4. Nourishment

We believe in fostering a positive, balanced relationship with food from an early age. We encourage children to be curious about their food, listen to their bodies, and understand that all foods have a place in a healthy diet. By learning to self-regulate based on internal cues and personal preferences, children can develop habits that support lifelong physical and mental well-being.
