SUMMERLUNCH+ PROGRAMS & PARTNERS

THORNCLIFFE PARK

Amina, Maliha, Fajr, Shabana, Karishma, Mislina, Zainab, Myfanway, and Lisa run the summerlunch+ program in Thorncliffe Park.   Matt and Karmen manage the garden and the programs for campers.

In partnership with Park Properties, we built our own community garden at 53 Thorncliffe Park Drive and this garden serves as a hub for education and food access. Summer camp kids come to the garden and learn about local food, and the food we grow is incorporated in the meals we serve.

THE BOWERY PROJECT

Innovators, The Bowery Project are running an urban agriculture imitative out of milk crates and the campers harvest fresh food to add to the weekly menus.  Alex Park kids are seeing how food grows and how fantastic fresh food tastes when you eat it straight from the vine!
