Our biggest cost by far is food, but we need more to run the summerlunch+ machine:
Food: We are in need of money to buy healthy fruits, vegetables, proteins, and grains.
Operating expenses: This isn’t sexy, but every charity has to buy paper, build websites, and pay for gas and rent.
We’ll feed 400 kids every day for 6 weeks of camp. That’s 12,000 meals that include the 4 food groups:
We’ll gratefully receive donations of:
kitchen items (blenders, pots, pans, trays, food service and cleaning supplies, reusable plates and cups, aprons, etc.)
digital cameras and laptops
Social media know-how
Help us get up-to-date on our social media presence, and help us prepare for the launch of a crowdsourcing campaign next year.
We have a number of terrific supporters, but the more money we raise, the more we can do!
Communications and marketing expertise
We want to get the message out about investing in youth over the summer in order to curb summer learning loss!
Research and tech acumen
We need to gather data and turn it into a meaningful message. We’d also love tech support that would help us build a great database.
